Japanese style coat by Zulma-san Japanese style coat by Zulma-san
I have been working on this coat for several years now. Most of the time was spent trying to find the fabrics and then combining them together in a way that I liked.

The pattern in itself is simple enough but with 30 different fabrics and so many pieces it is very time consuming. It is like a quilt but shaped into a coat. ^.^ The pattern is called Kandu coat.

I chose blue like the sky and orange/yellow like the sun. I wanted something bright and yet elegant. All the fabrics have gold in them which makes it look precious. ^.^

I like the result a lot although the cut which is very straight and kimono-like might not the best with the skirt.

100 theme challenge: 49 - Stripes as the construction of the coat requires you to cut MANY stripes of fabric and muslin and then sew them together to create the clothing.

Hope you like it.

Woah, that's very impressive! I really love how all the fabrics work so well together (you did a good job with putting it all together).

Thank you very much.
It took me a while, I made several test of layout in order to create a gradient I liked.
I am happy it turned out so well. ^.^
